FAQ's for artists & venues Why should I crowdfund through Adelaide Fringe instead of another fundraising platform? Through our platform you won't pay any upfront fees and every cent of the money raised by you, is yours (excluding third party processing and bank fees). You also align yourself with the overarching Adelaide Fringe marketing campaign fundraising for Fringe 2021. Through the campaign, we will promote the crowdfunding platform to our online database of 128,000+ and social channels as our community is highly engaged in arts philanthropy. Lastly, all donations over $2 are tax deductible! Are there any fees to use this? Adelaide Fringe does not charge any fees to use the platform. There is a third party processing fee charged on top of the donation which varies depending on the donation made. Donations incur a processing fee of 1.75% + 30 cents for domestic transactions or 2.9% + 30 cents for international transactions through the payment gateway. We have pre-selected donors to cover the average of these fees (set at 5%). Where the fees associated are not covered by the donor they will be taken out of the crowdfunding settlement. When settling to an international bank account there is a small transfer fee that will be taken out of your final donations, purely to cover the cost to Adelaide Fringe Inc. What if I don’t reach my goal? Unlike other crowdfunding sites, we are happy to pay out whatever donations you receive - even if you don’t hit your goal. I have never done fundraising before what is one thing you recommend? Reach out to your networks early, ask your friends and family for a donation and then ask them to share it with one other person. Most of the time if people are in a position to help you they will! When will the donation money hit my account? We will aim to have all donation reports and settlements processed by 31 December. How can I see who has donated to my fundraiser? Navigate to your fundraising page and click on the comments section. Here will display the name of the donor, the donation amount and a comment if they’ve left one. Some donors will wish to donate anonymously - and will have anonymous next to the amount donated. I’ve signed up but can’t see my fundraising page. Where is it? Don’t stress, we have received your fundraising page and are just making casting an eye on it. Once we have approved it, you will receive an email saying it’s live - then you can start sharing your page with the world. What if my event is cancelled due to a COVID-19 shutdown? This particular fundraising campaign is for the development/presentation of works and to assist SA venues. While we are anticipating Fringe will be going ahead, in the case of a COVID-19 shutdown and provided all other T&Cs are met you will still receive your donations for the development of the work.
